i suppose it's time for my semi-annual journal update..

let's see.. where to begin. i moved again last month, i'm living in lake tahoe now. i figure i'll probably be here about a year (seems to be as long as i can last in a place before i get all antsy and need to move) it's nice having my good friends and family around again, but not actually having to live down in reno. i'm sure i'll take off at some point this winter and make another road trip out to utah and colorado, but i'm gonna try to keep my travel costs down a bit more than in the past.. i'm kinda tossing around the idea of saving up cash for a year, and then just heading down to south america or asia or something for a while and trying to see how long my money lasts.. just an idea, we'll see what happens.
on the subject of saving up cash, i need to start putting aside some cash for a new camera, some new glass, and a new laptop. so sometime within the next year, i'll be getting a nikon d3 and some new glass to work with the sexy new full frame censor. the new macbook's are pretty f'in cool too!
i've been house/dog sitting for a friend since i moved down here while him and his woman are off surfing in the philippines. they are getting back next week, and then i'm gonna be moving in with a friend of mine. he's a realtor, and he's gonna start having me shoot properties for the company he works for. should pay pretty good once i'm up and running (i'm in need of a wider lens, but i don't have an extra $1,500 sitting around for the one i want quite yet) i'm also gonna start shooting weddings ( ) for this guy gene ho, and probably for a few other photographers i know in the area, as well as some on my own. he has studio's all over the country, so maybe i'll get to do a bit of travel for that. i'll obviously be doing plenty of the action sports stuff still too, that's one of the main reasons i decided to stick around here in tahoe.
i'm getting more and more interested in fashion photography as well as is probably kinda apparent with what i've been shooting lately (for the 4 of you that actually pay attention haha) so i'm gonna see where that takes me. the models here in this area kinda suck for the most part, so i'll be planning lots of trips out to the bay area to work with people out there.
i've got to make a trip back up to seattle within the next week or two to grab the rest of my shit, i'd planned on moving to portland after my housesitting gig was done down here so i left a bunch of stuff up there.
i'm going to be a hot dog for halloween, i'm sure i'll post a photo as my webcam at some point.
i ended up getting published a decent amount last winter with all the stuff i was running around shooting, pretty stoked on that. especially because it was my first real winter shooting with real athletes. i'm hoping i get a lot more ink this winter
